The Osage Mission Story

Spring of 2010 -- The Osage Mission - Neosho County Museum was selected as one of 24 finalists in the Kansas Sampler Foundation 8 Wonders of Kansas History Contest.    This, in itself, was an honor that placed the Osage Mission story in the top 15% of the 167 nominations received by the Foundation.    Although we were not among the final "8 Wonders of Kansas History" the description of the Osage Mission and our museum are still displayed on the Kansas Explorer Club tourism website.    As a finalist we will also be featured in the next edition of the Kansas Guidebook; and a Kansas Tourism exhibit at the Eisenhower Museum.    We appreciate this opportunity to elevate the incredible story of our heritage on a state-wide basis.
